Does Karen from Kalifornia need any help saddle soaping her leathers? I’ve got a new sheepskin mitt(from the Andes in Peru) that I’m dying to break in. I’ve also got a brand new glue formulation(Taiwan-made) designed specifically for getting super-tight bond to skin. Only comes off with saliva.
March 8th, 2006 at 8:20 am
Hee! Do the drink cues count double (or more) when the f-bombs slip through un-bleeped?
March 8th, 2006 at 9:02 am
“Robert G. Parent”??? More like “Robert G. I think I’ll get everybody really f*@ked up this week”. I see how his mind works. Its a mad plot from him to give half the listeners alchohol poisoning. No I dont know what this would accomplish. Thats why its a MAD plot! Damn you sir…
March 8th, 2006 at 10:13 am
What the heck? The show is actually less than an hour long?
What happened guys?
March 8th, 2006 at 10:18 am
They’re breaking the show into two parts. The main show and the caller voice mail show, to be released a day or two later. Interesting idea, of course I’m still pulling for the 3 hour Megashow with alcohol poisoning disclaimor. LOL
March 8th, 2006 at 10:49 am
Nice graphics guys….
…but what’s ha-ha-happening to th-th-the audio? (Or is it just me?)
March 8th, 2006 at 11:03 am
The UAE is most likely putting in a spaceport becasue its expensive and cool. Hell one of their princes or king (I dont fucking know) established a whole new racing league or like mini F1 racers. Or something like that.
March 8th, 2006 at 11:21 am
awwww Why does it have to be split up? bastards.
Its the drinking game peoples fault if they get too drunk. I say to Hell with’em.
Bah! who needs you guys anyway. Im going to go play with my snakes on a plane lego set.
March 8th, 2006 at 11:40 am
Ah, Indiana Jim, it’s the Cult of Menningasians (presently one member as far as I know). Stapling your fedora? Hilarious!
The ad at the beginning of the show was shrill and annoying, but that’s what the skip button is for. What do you think I use when Evo speaks?
Summer, it must have been the GargleBlaster blurring your vision. I didn’t get the new rack, but there were changes made to the landscaping in my vast acres of land.
Joe was in his finest form ever. “Hey, Pot!…” Now THAT’S brilliant.
But this “to be continued…”? Sick, twisted sadists, all of you.
March 8th, 2006 at 12:01 pm
N-n-n-n-n-no you are not a-lo-lo-lo-lone. I even went so far as to restore my iPod to factory specs and reload my content. Didn’t do any good. I guess I should have looked here first.
March 8th, 2006 at 1:21 pm
Anyone besides me hearing skips and stutters on the feed? I’m not getting it on any other podcast downloaded this week, other than Wingin’ It and SOSF =(…
March 8th, 2006 at 2:16 pm
file corruption is fun!
oh well, we all got the Ode and Summer’s response to the PanGalactic Gargleblaster…how much more do you need?
(well, okay - so maybe the SoaP bit at the end too!)
March 8th, 2006 at 2:28 pm
So do I keep drinking ’till Friday? Oh o.k…. Man this is going to be a long drinking session….
How about some Snakes on a Plane T-shirts?

March 8th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
Jeeze you guys. Last time I looked there were three comments.
Yes, the audio is all fracked up this week. I bought a new sound card from Crazy Abibs Discount Sound Card Emporium. It sucked ass, and has been returned. Sorry for the studders in the show.
Next week will be much better.
March 8th, 2006 at 3:09 pm
Funny, Summer mentions a chat room, yet there is no mention of it in the show notes. Is it IRC, is it Skype, etc? Details please.
March 8th, 2006 at 4:20 pm
Speaking of Milla: Have you heard her album from 1994? It was actually pretty good and I played a track from it all the time when I had my radio show back then.
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=637535&s=143441
March 8th, 2006 at 4:30 pm
That was a radio show in alaska btw, doug. KRUA 88.1 fm Anchorage.
I had a drink for you guys to try too. One of my rugby teammates came to a bbq at my place and wanted orange juice, but he wasn’t making a screwdriver. He was making beer and orange juice. Kinda weird, but he said it was really good. I don’t particularly want to try it, but I figured maybe Charlie the Beer Guy could suggest a beer to go with it. Maybe Blue Moon or something.
March 8th, 2006 at 5:13 pm
It is not wise to listen to Wingin’ It while working out. a)I almost pulled, ripped, tore multiple muscles b)I almost jogged in to heavy traffic c)I drew many a wary stare as a ran and laughed my way down the sidewalk.
The police will be hear from any minute.
Karen from Kalifornia - you are simply naughty. You must be stopped.
I’m off to Paris on Friday and I will be missing my weekly installment of the chaos.
Be sexy,
Phil
March 8th, 2006 at 5:52 pm
“Sorry for the studders in the show”
People who install studs? Great show though - if a little short and ’studdery’
Summer’s right about Ultraviolet. While I could happily watch Milla read a paper for two hours that movie turned into a bit of a crapfest pretty early. What is it with the future and swords?
I e-mailed this question off to Evo for Summer, but does anyone know if there’s a connection between this movie and the British mini-series from a few years back? I only saw one episode of that, but I see some similarity there.
March 8th, 2006 at 6:02 pm
I believe the name that had come up back in June or July for Mike’s Kult was the Mikeronauts.
Hey Karen, is it now Karen from Ka-Ka-Ka-Holy-F**K-Those-are-huge!? and when do we get the before and after pictures?
So I’m expecting my full hour and a half of da boys and I only get an hour. Sup wit dat? You don’t think I can handle it? WTF? Just because Mr. Sci-Fi-Poetry_I’m-Gonna-F**k-with-the-audience decided to do an F-bomb laden poem that almost rhyme in places.
I think I need a nap before the voice mail. F**k.
March 8th, 2006 at 6:19 pm
The series Ultraviolet was about vampires in modern day London. Kind of a UK X-Files.
March 8th, 2006 at 8:43 pm
Jeremy,
That’s kind of what I was seeing. There was more than a few references to vampirism in the movie (trying hard not to set up a spoiler here).
It was a small reference, and not very ‘plot specific’, but given the connection, and the name of the film…
March 9th, 2006 at 2:13 am
Another fine ep. You know I actually prefer the longer show. It seems more “winging it” than scripted. Then again, I don’t mind how the show is delevered as long as I get it
Man we need some pics of Karen from Kalafornia.
Hell, we need pics of Summer.
March 9th, 2006 at 3:40 am
Um, is the “Wingin’ It Submissions rules” above supposed to be a link?
…’cuz it isn’t
March 9th, 2006 at 4:27 am
I’m here to help you get 50 comments!
By the way Children of the Gods rules!
March 9th, 2006 at 5:06 am
“Hee! Do the drink cues count double (or more) when the f-bombs slip through un-bleeped?”
Ok, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought he heard an F-bomb with no bleep (not that I care).
Also, Mike…I don’t think you can be allowed to play the “no F-bombs” bumper.
March 9th, 2006 at 5:17 am
Yo, E…just for the record: that spot took one hour out of my day. You two inspired me! :^p As for joining the WI chat…well, writing and doing laundry just doesn’t work. *LOL* You got my ass on that one!
And I second fellow MRD Phil’s warning. I nearly hyperventilated while listening to the SoaP trailer. Dang, that was a RIOT!
March 9th, 2006 at 6:28 am
I fail to see how anyone can actually drink during the show. I’m so busy laughing, turning different shades of red, coughing, laughing, doubled over on the floor (I should be in my bunk) that I can barely function whilst I listen to the show. Stop the ‘No F-bombs’ bumper and put a warning on the darn show.
March 9th, 2006 at 6:31 am
As much fun as it is to put these little comments on this web page like this, it might be a good time for the episode discussion to get moved into a forum.
—
One reason why people, and by people I mean me, procrastinate so much is that it pays off so frequently. For example, I was starting to get concerned about the stuttering audio, and maybe do something drastic to my iPod, but now I see that it was all the fault of an el-cheapo soundcard.
—
I’m ok with the splittin’ it up thing, I say go for it. It sucks (a little bit) to be forced to have a shorter episode, but it’s also good to know you guys are thinking of peoples’ livers and general BAC. Good on ya.
March 9th, 2006 at 7:48 am
Wyrd… everything I do in life is to benefit the general BAC. But we’ve had two nasty run-ins with forums. I just don’t trust ‘em to not pull my entire empire down when some f**cking script-kiddie breaks in and kills it. Not worth the time or risk, IMHO.
March 9th, 2006 at 8:09 am
Only redeeming feature of Ultraviolet was the backside shot of Milla. Otherwise… ugh want the other 87min 50sec’s back… plus the 30 bucks back. Also Mike you’re a b@stard for scaring me with them skips and stutter’s thought my Pod was fried.
March 9th, 2006 at 8:54 am
http://www.phpbbforfree.com/
I’m not sure if this would work for you or not, but this site offers free forum hosting. Might be something to consider.
March 9th, 2006 at 8:56 am
I’m with Evo on this one. Forums can be a pain. The commenting system has a certain charm.
Or is it my commenting that has a certain charm.
I really am charming. You can trust me on that one.
March 9th, 2006 at 11:37 am
And I’ll chime in support for sticking with the blog because BOTH incarnations of the Dragon’s Den (Ah, those were the days…) were hacked into by some pimply-faced nitwit under the handle of ChikMagGnit or ZeMAzterOfDizazter. (And for those idiots who think a “z” is a substitute for “s”…please…eat a bullet for us.) Some of the most passionate rants, rebuttals, and reviews were lost when the forums were hit. I doubt if I could handle losing a valuable resource like that again.
Let’s keep it simple. Let’s stick with the blog.
Hmmm…how about we lighten things up now. HAPPY THOUGHT: Karen from Kalifornia, done up in the Milla Jojovich/ULTRAVIOLET outfit…brandishing weapons…and on the crotch rocket…
I’ll be in my bunk.
March 9th, 2006 at 12:13 pm
Re: Happy thought, how about Evo portaying Keanu Reeves in the Matrix, when Agent Smith erases his mouth. Ah, the sweet sound of silence.
C’mon, guys, where’s the Wingin’ It submission rules? I’ve got a hot one waiting for you. (Yes, I know, you’ll be in your bunks)
March 9th, 2006 at 1:21 pm
Tee, you’re my new best favorite hero. I’ll buy more bullets if you run out!
March 9th, 2006 at 1:41 pm
Let us not forget the true masterminds who use ‘0’s instead of “o”s. I believe their battle cry is W00T W00T. All communications sent with capslock firmly depressed
And they express their love by using…and this is my personal favorite…

I typed something but it fcuked up with this
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e324/tommoore88/winginit_error.jpg
Don’t even ask me why it went to Slice of Scifi.
Yeah, we need thoses rules for submissions. I got one ready as well, just not as hot as Karen’s one I’m guessing.
And finally, Skype was the original Wingin’ It digital audience, I didn’t know it supports chat room-esk style ….thing.
March 9th, 2006 at 2:45 pm
Summission Rules now linked here and in the post.
March 9th, 2006 at 2:56 pm
I apologize for not linking in the submission rules… I totally forgot that Evo sent me the link for them.
The UK miniseries Ultraviolet has nothing in common with the current movie outside of the name… I asked that question last year when I heard about it, and when I found out that Yvonne Navarro was writing the novelization of it (and I asked her
Do yourself a favor and try to find it on DVD… it’s out there, because I own it. It might be worth it to watch it as a way to erase any movie memories from your brain.
As for forums, we’re not doing forums. What I was doing last week was sitting in a Skype chat that I’d created with the “wingin_it” ID, and I was giving everyone a play-by-play of what we were recording.
Skype only allows 5 voice users at a time, but Chuck and Kreg from ChuckChat Technorama have given me some other suggestions on things to try. I’ll likely be talking to them tomorrow to try to set something up on my laptop that we can feed from the board to the eager listeners.
March 9th, 2006 at 3:16 pm
Greetings from the land of Miller, Pabst, and perhaps best of all (wait, I mean… the opposite of best… worst, that’s it) Milwaukee’s Best. Er. Worst.
Just helping to get to 50 comments, and I figured I’d say hi since I haven’t commented before. Hello!
Also, my coworkers think I have some kind of circulatory problem because whenever I listen to Wingin’ It, I have trouble not laughing and consequently turn bright red. The kicker this episode was the Snakes on a Plane spot. OH GOD, here it comes again.
March 9th, 2006 at 4:57 pm
Karen, are you being a little harsh on Terrapin, no mouth? What would he lick Keanu’s poster with if no wittle tongue with no wittle mouth. Come on Evo, come cleant-I’ve got pictures of you wearing Neo shades and a diaper with Sheila dressed up as Trinity giving you good spanking. You make me leader of the Terra cult and I’ll give you copies.
March 9th, 2006 at 5:03 pm
J from Wisconsin mentioned beer a post or so ago, implying WI was a megabrew mecca, so I thought I’d jump on this surge to 50 posts by giving some shout-outs to decent Wisconsin beer: Capitol Brewing! Great Dane! New Glarus! Heck, I’m in a good mood so I’ll even give props to Leinenkugel’s!
March 9th, 2006 at 6:56 pm
No need to apologize, Summer. You are absolved of any wrong doing sheer sexiness.
March 9th, 2006 at 7:22 pm
???
My comment was SUPPOSED to ask for details about the chat room Summer mentioned.
March 9th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
NM, I didn’t realize that the author line is AFTER the comment.
March 9th, 2006 at 8:24 pm
I just updated the shows with a little note saying the audio was shitty. Hope some of you don’t end up with it in your aggregator again.
Still waiting on our new audio interface. (Lexicon Omega) If it don’t show up tomorrow, this may be an interesting weekend of recording again. *You’ll all know Monday.
Since the sound card and the computer f**ked us, I pulled the studio apart again and did some needed upgrades. (If you really want to see them, let me know. I’ll post the picts.)
On other topics:
The forum was a lot of fun, (till it was hacked) but I’m really digging what’s happening here. Posting in the show notes is cool. It’s topic specific, and we still go off on wild tangents. Seems to be working fine for now.
I wonder how many posts we can put in, before we have to start using the cntrl + end command?
March 9th, 2006 at 8:35 pm
Sure post pics of the set up. And while you’re posting pics, don’t forget the brokeback edition pics of you and Evo in the leather chaps. Karen may have a geekgasm over that one.
March 9th, 2006 at 8:58 pm
Hey! I paid you good money to keep your mouth shut about those pictures.
The deals off dude. Send back the first edition X-Men comics I paid you off with!
March 9th, 2006 at 10:00 pm
Drat. I knew it was too good to be true. I blame the aliens. My foil hat failed to work. I blame Evo. He just had to look so hot in his assless chaps. Dammit.
March 9th, 2006 at 10:48 pm
Pictures of Mike’s big board? Surely you jest! Of course I want to see the pictures of the massive unit. And don’t call me…
However, the idea of leather and Evo is not interesting. Unless the leather IS Evo. Hmmmm. It seems there is more than one way to skin a cat-hater.
By the way, this is the third time that I have posted in the blog. That means that these comments don’t count and we still need at least one more post to make it 50. (as the Ego commanded)
ah, so sorry, mr. brooklyn bluesman, what was your score on matchmaker? data was lost when funds were routed through ghana. please to try again. 69 is not an acceptable answer.
Tee! Horrible! Despicable! Woe! Oh, yeah, and your segment was nice.
March 10th, 2006 at 5:46 am
By your command: one more post. Er, this is my third one, too. Are we keeping score?
March 10th, 2006 at 6:04 am
Er. Re: my last comment
That is due to sheer sexiness. Not doing sheer sexiness. Although, there is no wrong in doing sheer sexiness.
Ask me about blue steel.
March 10th, 2006 at 5:18 pm
Charlie, I know you’re the beer guy, but I’m still impressed that anybody outside Wisconsin has heard of New Glarus. Hooray! I’ve half a mind to send some Spotted Cow (that is, if they don’t already sell it there).
March 10th, 2006 at 6:46 pm
Mmmmm, New Glarus… and Capitol…
and I had a nice doppelbock (”Big Butt”) from Leinie’s after a Gopher Hockey game a couple weeks ago.
I can’t condone Leinie’s original, but they make some nice specialty stuff.
Now, what good stuff do you recognize outta my home state, the home of Hamm’s? (ugh)
March 10th, 2006 at 7:23 pm
Yo J! No New Glarus of any kind is available in AZ. Spotted Cow? Yes please! Could you throw in some Uff-da Bock, some Edel-Pils, and a couple of Belgian Reds? Some of the best beer in the whole damn country…
March 10th, 2006 at 7:36 pm
It might be a few weeks, but I’ll see what I can do. I should probably throw a ‘Hearty Hop’ in there too, eh?
March 10th, 2006 at 8:30 pm
J–Hearty Hop? Hells yeah. Send it to me c/o Draco Vista, and we’ll do a New Glarus-Only Wingin’ It! If you can find some of that 5-year aged super sharp white cheddar as well, that’d rock!
JohnBoze–You got me…uh..there’s a Rock Bottom in Minneapolis… not much else comin’ out of the land of sky blue waters these days…least that I know of…
March 10th, 2006 at 11:04 pm
Okay, the address is the one in the left-hand column on the contact page, right? (I’m sure the fact that I’m a dumb girl is coming through, but I wouldn’t want it sent to the wrong place.)
Heh. We’ve got cheddar all over the place around here.
(If only Wisconsin were famous for chocolate, what a world this would be.) I’m slightly concerned about shipping cheese, though. It’s probably not a problem here since it’s freaking cold, but once it gets to Arizona…
March 11th, 2006 at 8:18 am
J–that’s the address! You’re probably right about the cheese…sigh…
March 11th, 2006 at 5:38 pm
Hey J and Charlie: My parents are driving out to California from the upper peninsula of Michigan (yes, I am a yooper…hence the email name) in May. My mom is going to load up the RV fridge with goodies from da north…such as pizza, venison sausage and good pork chops. Since they live on the Wisconsin border….let me know what kind of cheese you want and it will get a cold ride across country. I might ask them to throw in a couple of smoked chubs too.
Lemme know. Email is ok….I dont check back at the web page after I get to the bottom of the blog posts.
March 12th, 2006 at 12:25 pm
I don’t call Rock bottom anything local really. There’s local stuff that doesn’t see bottling, of course, but Summit produces some fine stuff as does Schell. Schell also bought the right to produce the favorite fizzy yellow american brew round here Grain Belt Premium. Don’t recoil from the “Brain Melt” name though, their Premium is decent. Gluek is also here in Cold Spring, MN. They make the Stite beer thyat comes in the Alumabottle Mike had a while back on the show.
