Wingin’ It! not important enough for Wikipedia?
Reading the top of our Wikipedia entry today, I see:
This article lacks information on the importance of the subject matter. If you are familiar with it, please expand the article, or discuss its significance on the talk page.
Well isn’t that a pisser. I took a look around the talk page as indicated above and see valid points on both sides.
I do not want this to turn into a huge pissing match between our fans and those determined to keep Wikipedia pure. For what it’s worth, I think Wikipedia is a great resource. If you agree, and you feel an entry for Wingin’ It! is worth of inclusion, jump on over and try and flesh things out better. Anyone can add to a Wikipedia entry, but crap tends to get edited out quickly.
I’m gunshy of jumping on and editing things myself. But I am more than willing to answer any questions anyone interested in editing the page might have.

I added a few sentences here and there. I think there needs to be a little more content on the content. The history of the voicemail is a little confusing and dry. No offence to who wrote it.

Evo, I would certainly be glad to make any more additions to the article to help out. As I read through Wikipedia’s guidelines, Importance is a rather nebulous quality.
One thing I’ve come to realize about Wikipedia is that the uber-editors want external references and verifiable facts. If we could say that Wingin It, (or any of the shows for that matter) has an audience of X according to Y source, that seems to be the kind of thing needed. Of course, only the Farpoint guys probably have regular access to the Libsyn information to back that up.
This is also why its important to vote for the shows at the various directories like Podcast Alley and Itunes.

So, was that a not-so-subtle hint that I should get in gear and finish working on the FarPoint Media website?
Maybe I can push one of my paying web clients aside for a day or two and try to knock out all of the FPM stuff I have to do.
I don’t know about jumping in and editing stuff myself, but if anyone needs dates on anything, just email me and ask. I should be able to dig those up. A history of segments (different segments, not all of the segment episodes) would be a challenge, but not impossible.
