Evo narrates for Variant Frequencies

Posted in trifle on July 19th, 2006 by Evo Terra

Yeah, I know I’m posting this on all the sites. Deal.

Recently, I was asked by Rick and Matt from Variant Frequencies to narrate one of their shows. They feature an eclectic mix of original short fiction and I’ve been following them from the beginning. My piece is entitled The Last Frequency, and it was a lot of fun to do. I’m sure you’ll agree it was a part almost written for me! :)

Wingin’ It! not important enough for Wikipedia?

Posted in trifle on July 18th, 2006 by Evo Terra

Reading the top of our Wikipedia entry today, I see:

This article lacks information on the importance of the subject matter. If you are familiar with it, please expand the article, or discuss its significance on the talk page.

Well isn’t that a pisser. I took a look around the talk page as indicated above and see valid points on both sides.

I do not want this to turn into a huge pissing match between our fans and those determined to keep Wikipedia pure. For what it’s worth, I think Wikipedia is a great resource. If you agree, and you feel an entry for Wingin’ It! is worth of inclusion, jump on over and try and flesh things out better. Anyone can add to a Wikipedia entry, but crap tends to get edited out quickly.

I’m gunshy of jumping on and editing things myself. But I am more than willing to answer any questions anyone interested in editing the page might have.

Samuel L. to voice God

Posted in trifle on July 18th, 2006 by Evo Terra

In a move sure to piss off at least some of the fundies*, Samuel L. Jackson has been cast to narrate the voice of God in a new audio-version of the New Testament. I’m not surprised that God turns out to be a black man, but I was shocked to learn he carries a wallet that says “Bad Motherfucker” on it.

And on the eight day, God created Snakes. And they shall be on the plane.

Thanks to Mike for the link!

* - No, I don’t think all Xians are fundies, so just relax

The funniest Star Wars video you’ll see all day.

My God. This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Snakes on a Plane… on a plane?

Laura, you’re taking this way too seriously. :)

Snakes on a Plane on a plane

Snakes on the 4th of July Plane

Posted in trifle on July 13th, 2006 by Evo Terra

Remember those really lame cool little black snakes on the 4th of July? (International listeners: humor us.) I’m sure many of you had to smuggle your mom’s lighter out of her purse to get them lit, but around my place, fire was always available for the taking.

Steven lives about 100 miles from where I grew up. Seems his family is fairly liberal with the flame when it comes to Independence Day celebrations. Where’s Sam J. when you need him?

Snakes on a Plane video

Posted in trifle on July 13th, 2006 by Evo Terra

On the way to find a fish-and-chips place in Vancouver tonight, we were discussing something about NJ’s hockey camp. With half an ear, I could have swore I heard a lyric on a song on the radio say “snakes on a plane”.

Checking my email today, Robert from the UK confirms it was not a hallucination:

Snakes on the post!

Posted in trifle on July 13th, 2006 by Evo Terra

Kurt sent me a link to a story about a venomnous snake that was sent to a collector via email. Since the story wasn’t very funny, the reporter littered it with SoaP references. At least the AP is paying attention!

The Way Star Wars Should Have Ended

Posted in trifle on July 12th, 2006 by Michael R. Mennenga

Ever think that maybe Star Wars could of turned out a bit different if the Imperial comander had taken a moment to think things through?

Check out this short clip. You may look at the movie in a whole new way.

Wingin’ It #68

Posted in Shows on July 12th, 2006 by Joe Murphy

This week on Wingin’ It! Mike, Mike’s wife, Jack, and Joe.

The studio audience: Chris from Tempe, our cheesecake goddess. (After this was recorded, Joe had a piece. Damn, they weren’t exaggerating.)

First Drink of the Day: More Sake Bombers! And Mike splooges.
