Y’know, every time I hear Evo read the advertisement slogan, I think of two things. 1) the mild trashing you people gave the show and 2) the fact that Evo doesn’t watch television.
You’re not selling me, or anybody else who listens, any DVD sets. You’re just selling out. If you were pitching Battlestar, or Dr. Who, or SG-1 stuff, I wouldn’t mind as much, but slapping a tattoo on your collective cornholes that says “this space for rent to anyone who will pay us” isn’t going to sell any widgets for anyone. You total lack of sincerity in delivering the same simple message, that one listener has even pointed out as inaccurate, is a real irritation, and a detraction from the content.
Stop doing it now. Sell something you actually care about. The bottle openers, Utilikilts, the Shatner DVD club, fuck…get your asses on the calendars already, but stop shilling shit you really don’t care about. It’s stupid.

Spork, how the fuck do you know whether they like Invasion or not? They are advertising things that THEIR LISTENERS MIGHT LIKE. Charlie the Beer Guy does the same sort of thing when he brings beer on the show: he’s bringing beer he thinks the gang will like.
Advertising helps keep them in beer so they can keep producing the show that you don’t seem to like. If you don’t like them advertising, I hope you’re sending them an equivalent amount in contributions.
