Wingin’ It #84: Another Sixteen Tons
This week we have Mike, Joe, Charlie the Beer Guy, and Debbie from East Mesa, the woman in need of a bumper.
First Drink of the Day: More Belgian beers from the makers of Golden Draak. Joe’s drinking an apple lambic, and I must say his voice sounds especially whiny this week.
- And now, sit down, take stock, listen, and enjoy:
- Karen from Kalifornia and BSG boobies.
- Ok, I’m sorry, but I’m not. We all had a bad week, and we go off about it. Well, except for Debbie. Give us this moment of free self therapy. Thank you.
- Debbie’s researching propositions for the upcoming elections. All I know is that you don’t end a sentence with a proposition. That’s it.
- Get Your Geek Off: The G-Spot. And on next week’s show, they continue with the theme of “impossible to find” with compassionate conservatives.
- Mike O.D.’s on Rockstar
- Some new user content. Not bad. What do you think?
- Charlie on Heroes. He has notes and everything.
- Joe has a brilliant idea for the second season of Heroes, btw.
- A Haiku Moment
- Mike is jonesing for The Dresden Files.
- Scifi Poetry Slam: Your Alien Bride, by Mary A. Turzillo.

Hi Karen!

If the woman is beautiful enough, you always end a sentence with a proposition.

Michael, I disagree with you about Claire. I think she does needs saving. The stick in the brain shows that she can be killed by “disabling” the brain and the painting that Peter finished shows her brain removed ala Sylar style.
To me, Peter will become the key to stopping Sylar as he can take on others powers, with them all around him, he’ll probably be the one to put him down.

And is it just me, or is Niki similar to Tyler Durden in Fight Club? I can’t get Edward Norton narating over every scene where we see evil Niki, out of my head.
November 8th, 2006 at 6:49 pm
Hehe…This is Nicki ripping my victims in half.
November 9th, 2006 at 3:33 am
lol
November 9th, 2006 at 6:03 am
Hey, maybe they can get Tyler Durdan to narrate over Niki’s scenes. LOL
As for Claire, I can see the brain removal angle, but if they drop it back in her head, she should come back. (Humm… now there is a cool plot point

So we need to finish up the Wingin It 2007 calendar. I will be making a “PSA” for the next WI show, but heads up to those who read this. I am taking over production of it and we need more images. We have about 4 that will work, so we really need more to make it work. Submit your large (like around 2000-3000 pixels wide) landscape (horizontal) picture that illustrates something wingin’ it. Females are encouraged to give sexy photos but its not a requirement.
Email them to me at djutopia at gmail.com
Thanks!!

I am lov’n heroes, and I am really liking Dexter too. Its not SF, but its pretty cool. Perhaps the first time a Serial Killer is the main protagensit.

I’m in Hong Kong and I can’t find “Heroes” on any of the channels!!!!
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!

You may need to do a BIT of a TORRENT jump on the internet to find where you can watch it.
November 10th, 2006 at 12:42 pm
Hmm… would M&E’s jet be BT air then (I need to catch a flight for Torchwood next week…)?
November 10th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
I liked the episode, but whatever happened to Eliza?

On the whole Second series of Heroes - Nuke happens thing…
To spin out a Rumour I have seen on the Heroes Podcast the 9th’s forum (you played there promo)
“By the end of season 1, New York will be practically destroyed and the heroes will have failed. The creators have already sketched out a second season (where New York is nicknamed the “Apple Core”). ”
THIS IS A RUMOUR but I hope it is true for the reasons you state in the cast.

You can’t grow if you don’t go through Strife.
********Possible Spoiler***********

I just about had a geekgasm this friday. It just keeps getting better and better!
So this is when they pull the plug and cancel the series, right?

Finally got around to listening to this. While I see Charlie’s points about Heroes and Lost, I really don’t agree with much of it. In any case, Lost has gone completely downhill, so I’ll be watching Heroes instead.
November 13th, 2006 at 3:56 pm
I can find time for both Heroes and Lost. I don’t really agree with what they did with Michael and Walt, and Season 3 has become somewhat soapy, but I still find it more entertaining that most shows.
November 13th, 2006 at 7:30 pm
I’m really enjoying Heroes. I acknowledge that some of the episodes are a little slow for some people, but I think that even those are still far better than 90% of what is on cable.
I don’t feel a great need to evangelize Heroes. I mention it to people as being a good show, but if they don’t like it, I don’t try to convince them otherwise. Besides, this far into the season, it would be very hard for anyone to get caught up.
November 13th, 2006 at 7:31 pm
PS: Go. Contribute to the Heroes thread on the forums.
November 14th, 2006 at 2:02 pm
They’ve finally caught on with this program. It is available on broadcast, cable, and even /link:itms://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=196139170&s=143441&ign-mscache=1/link= iTunes. Maybe we now have someone at the network that knows the Internet is more than just a place to drop static TV Program webpages and look for porn…
November 14th, 2006 at 2:08 pm
Well, that post didn’t come out too well… “Wierd Press” ate my brackets but left the commands unprocessed. That link should have read:
itms://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewTVSeason?id=196139170&s=143441&ign-mscache=1
for a link to iTunes and Heroes Season 1…..
