Joe Murphy
Joe has been moved into hospice care and he will not be with us for much longer. That’s about as straightfoward as I can make a very painful and fucked up situation.
Joe has appreciated all the love and generosity that everyone has given him during all of this.
If you want to help please donate. This will help to pay off Joe expenses and help Joe’s family with their expenses while they are with Joe.

March 25th, 2007 at 11:47 am
All sympathies with you guys, and with Joe’s family. Donation forthcoming.
March 25th, 2007 at 1:25 pm
I appreciated the update on Joe on the last Wingin’ It. I’ve been thinking about him lots, and wishing him well.
Safe voyage, Joe.
March 25th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
Gorram it, Randy Innuendo, keep it up, man!! If you climax, ya gotta be here to clean it up, that’s only common courtesy!
Hopin’ for the best for ya . . .
March 25th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
Thank you for the warning and the update. Joe is loved and will be missed. His passing will leave a void on my iPod and in my heart. May his remaining days be as comfortable as possible. May he be surrounded by friends and family. May he know how many people in the world are thinking about him and care for him.
March 25th, 2007 at 3:03 pm
We love you, Joe.
March 25th, 2007 at 3:17 pm
We love ya, Joe, and we’re all thinking about you and praying for you and wishing for the best. The world’s gonna be a sadder place without Randy Innuendo.
March 25th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
Thanks for the update guys , so many things I want to say but I have no words .
I hope my donation can help in some way.
Be Cool my man.
March 25th, 2007 at 4:49 pm
Updates, as always, appreciated.
May that Randy Innuendo be surrounded by love (which, it seems, he very much is) and that remainder of his time is both as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
My thanks to Mike/Evo/everyone personally helping Joe out during this time, as well - as sad as this situation is, it’s quite a bit easier when you’re a few hundred miles away, and not directly involved. Stellar work, guys (and gals).
March 25th, 2007 at 5:15 pm
This is terrible news. Joe, Randy, I’m gonna miss you. I was always hoping you’d do a porn review of Taliens one day…
Be comfortable and know that you’ve got a great pack of friends around you right now.
March 25th, 2007 at 5:24 pm
We love you Joe.
The love that surrounds you makes my cynical bitchy heart all warm and fuzzy.
Amazing really.
Love always,
Clair and Leann
March 25th, 2007 at 6:34 pm
I’m betting you’ll put out the first podcast from heaven Joe. Make sure you get St. Peter and the Celestial Chorus to down a few Arrogant Bastards before you pass them the mike.
Us down here, we’ll be all that much poorer.
Thank you for all the good times.
March 25th, 2007 at 6:45 pm
We love you, Joe. Godspeed.
March 25th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Joe…we love ya big guy!
March 25th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
Appreciate the updates. Sympathies to Joe’s family and all the Farpoint family.
March 25th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Surely the measure of a man is the caliber of his friends who surround him.
Sleep well, my friend.
March 25th, 2007 at 9:46 pm
This week’s show is a normal one, nothing new in it on Joe, but it was very hard on me and the folks in the studio. To everyone’s credit, I think we did a good job pulling off a show as if there was nothing wrong, but I do believe that we may be going on a break.
We’ll have a formal announcement this week, but you should expect us to go dark during this hard time.
Thank you everyone for all your support. We have done our best to keep Joe informed of the love sent his way. More updates as things happen.
March 25th, 2007 at 9:51 pm
Mike,
I listened to the live feed and was very impressed at how “natural” everything sounded. I don’t know if I could have done the same. You and Lorri, Evo and Shelia, Summer, and those in Arizona do what we can not. We thank you. We support you. Take the time you need. Do what you need to do. We will be waiting for you when you return.
March 25th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Mike et al,
Look out for yourselves.
Look after Joe.
Just keep us informed.
We understand.
PfA.
March 25th, 2007 at 10:16 pm
Mike: I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all understand you guys wanting to take a break, and support it wholeheartedly.
I understand how hard this will be for all you FPM guys and you should know that as much as we’re here for Joe, we’re here for you guys too.
March 26th, 2007 at 2:12 am
No words can express my sympathies, best wishes, hopes, and care. Joe, you are immortal in our thoughts. Mike, Evo, and all who call Joe a friend, thank you for all that you have done, do, and will do.
March 26th, 2007 at 2:55 am
Ah shit. That just sucks.
March 26th, 2007 at 4:12 am
That really sux!
March 26th, 2007 at 4:36 am
Joe and everyone in the Farpoint family have made a BIG positive impact on many people all over the world by sharing of yourselves and your time. Hopefully now the tables have turned a bit and those of us out here can help Joe and each of you by sending all our positive energy and karma in your direction to try and help Joe and everyone close to him at this difficult time.
Even though all of you in AZ may not be able to see the thousands of us who are out here please know we are right behind each and every one of you!
Let us know if we can do anything to help…..
Kevin
March 26th, 2007 at 4:58 am
Much love to you all.
March 26th, 2007 at 5:32 am
Bugga !
Hold in there mate.
To the rest of the ‘boys’ - keep your chins up.
E.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:01 am
You guys deserve a break. In fact, if you DON’T go dark for at least a week, I’d be concerned…
To echo Sci-Fi Laura and Philip - as you take care of Joe, do what you need to take care of yourselves as well.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:09 am
You’ve got the digits. Call us if you need anything.
March 26th, 2007 at 7:16 am
Joe, I’m humming “Scott Bakula” by Sunspot all day, man. Only good thoughts from here to you and your fam.
Mike, Evo, Summer, Sheila, Lorrie and the rest of the gang putting in the time and being there with Joe when he’s needed friends around him… thanks for being our eyes and ears and conduits for hugs and caring.
March 26th, 2007 at 7:18 am
Thanks for letting us know. Please let Joe know that we are sending him the best possible thoughts.
Take care of yourselves.
March 26th, 2007 at 7:53 am
Dude! Is this because of that sidetrip to Zahadum? Never get into a car with John Sheridan!
Peace, Joe, and Good Journey…
March 26th, 2007 at 8:04 am
We love you, Joe.
We love all of you guys.
Take care and spend your time doing what you need to. We’re here if you need us and we’ll be here when you come back.
March 26th, 2007 at 8:22 am
Joe’s one of the nicest and thoughtful people you could ever meet. I too want to express my gratitude for the love and support that the Farpoint Media crew have given Joe. At least I know he is being given the best care he could have received.
March 26th, 2007 at 8:41 am
Joe,
It makes me happy to know that you are surrounded by such quality people at this time. You have touched the lives of more people than you know and you will be missed by one and all. Ii feel so lucky to have had the chance to meet you and my heart will be hurting for a long time.
Love ya, guy!
Kari
March 26th, 2007 at 9:21 am
Joe,
Even though it sucks major to be losing you, head on with the knowledge that you are well loved and will be missed. You’re parting diminishes the podosphere :(.
::Hefts a beer:: Here’s to you, Joe
Mike, Evo, Summer, Lorri, Shelia, and the rest of the crew,
You guys have been awesome, everybody should have friends and collegue’s such as you. The support from all of you has just been above and beyond, not only for Joe, but for all of the rest of us and across the country and around the world.
::Hefts a beer:: Here’s to you guys
To everybody reading this,
I think that Kevin Bachelder left one thing off; it’s supposed to be positive energy, kharma, AND money. Moving on in America is not a cheap proposition, so let’s see what the podosphere can really do.
If you’ve already donated ::Hefts a beer:: Here’s to you.
If you haven’t, I’ll drink to you later
Thank you to everybody, for everything that you’ve done.
Joe, you will be missed.
somewhat drunkenly,
-James

Thank you for letting us know. My heart is with all of you at FPM. I don’t know what else to write.
March 26th, 2007 at 9:36 am
“When you can’t walk, you crawl, and when you can’t do that, you find someone to carry you.” — Firefly
I think I can speak for most of the podcast ‘verse, when I say that quote says it all. Guys take the time you need, we’ll still be here when you are ready to come back and if you need anything in the meantime…let us know what we can do. You all have kept us entertained time and time again, now it’s our turn to help you.
March 26th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Dear Joe,
i wish you a safe and comfortable journey into the beyond. i wish this wasn’t happening to you, but the fact that there are so many surrounding you with love i hope makes everything easier. although we’ve never met face to face, thank you for sharing your world with us.
*a toast to a Kick Ass Mystic Ninja and a good man to boot*
peace be with you
raequel aka systris
March 26th, 2007 at 9:56 am
Brad… thanks for sharing that quote. It didn’t pop into my head when I posted before, but it’s about the most perfect thing I can think of. Brilliant.
March 26th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Mike having known a little bit more than most during the live feed and then hearing what was going on after in the studio as I was on the skype call I was bloody amazed at how ‘normal’ the show seemed. My thoughts go to Joe’s family and friends at this time and I understand why you will likely be ‘going dark’ as you put it. If you decide to come back, in whatever format that may be. I for one will listen.
I don’t know if it’s been said in earlier posts but Joe will only truly be gone when no-one remebers him. And I don’t think those that ever heard him will forget.
March 26th, 2007 at 10:46 am
take all the time you guys need. You are all in our thoughts here in Chicago.
March 26th, 2007 at 11:48 am
@Shannon: Thanks it just came to me. The gang has done so much, the least we can do is boost them up when they need it.
March 26th, 2007 at 12:00 pm
My deepest sympathies to one of the best Ninja’s I’ve have ever known of. And to the rest of the FPM crew, if we can wait till 2008 for BSG we can wait at least that long for you guys.
Take care,
March 26th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
Take all the time you need.
Joe, again my thoughts are with you and your family. Thanks for the laughs and smiles, what more could anyone ask for?
March 26th, 2007 at 1:06 pm
We love you Joe! And the rest of all you fpm’rs, too.
March 26th, 2007 at 1:41 pm
Hey Joe. Even though I never met or talked to you, I have always enjoyed listening to you on all your different podcasts. My thoughts are with both you and your family through this terrible tragedy. I’m sorry this had to happen to such a great person.
March 26th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
Randy Innuendo…
Mason Rocket…
Joe Murphy…
Hang in there buddy!!!
March 26th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
Joe, I don’t know you… we never had the chance to meet. But I’ve heard your voice, and experienced your humor, and your strength has astounded me, and moved me.
So I guess I do know you, after all.
Thanks for that.
To my friends who are flocking to be with Joe, and who are there with him already… my heart is with you. I wish I could be there in person.
March 26th, 2007 at 5:53 pm
Mike et al:
Do what you have to do. We’ll be there with you in spirit.
Joe:
Godspeed, friend. May it be quick and without suffering.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Darcy and I wish you all our support in spirit. Here’s hoping Joe has peace where he can find it in the time left.
Here’s hoping, no, here’s knowing the rest of you will pull together for each other when you need each other. We will be here when you are ready to come back.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:49 pm
Joe just want to let you you know that Jason Mike and I have you in our thoughts. We wish you peace and love and just want to say thanks for all you’ve done.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
Now that’s a downer…
I can only hope that Joe can move on in peace knowing the difference he’s made in each of us. I’ve listened since the end of Live Fire, so I was used to hearing his voice weekly. It saddens me that will no longer be true.
March 26th, 2007 at 6:59 pm
I never knew you personally Joe but through listening for what seems years of your voice through Slice of Sci-Fi and Wingin’ it. From the small part of your life that I do know you’re a fighter and will keep fighting until you take your last breath. Let that last breath be years from now and if sooner let it be the best breath of life you take before you leave this earth. We all have different beliefs in what comes after life, but one things for certain is that we all pull, pray, and hope for the best for you Joe. We may not all know you personally, but we do all love you. Godspeed brother.
March 26th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
You’ve always been a bright spot on the shows. The responses here and elsewhere show you’ve touched many lives for the better. No matter when the time comes, you’ll leave us poorer without you. You’ll be remembered and glasses shall be raised in your memory.
March 26th, 2007 at 8:08 pm
Damn, I can’t believe how fast people we love can be taken from us. Although I only know Joe through this and other podcasts, I am feeling genuine sadness and when he passes I will feel much loss. It is amazing how the Dracovista people have become like family to me.
March 26th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
I’ve been following Joe’s progress closely, hoping in vain for a miracle. He brought so many smiles and laughs to SO many people. He and all of you have consumed my thoughts all day. I hope he’s feeling no pain, and that you all find the comfort that you need in each other. We’ll be here for you when you feel ready to come back.
Personally, I’m of the belief that there’s further adventures beyond this one, so have one hell of a great journey, Randy Innuendo. Wherever you go, I hope there’s lots of porn there.
March 26th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
A man who is remembered
Lives on far past his days.
And You’ve ensured longevity
In oh, so many ways.
You hang in there, Joe.
We all love you.
March 27th, 2007 at 6:37 am
It is amazing to see all the love being poured out by your listeners and the Far Point family. You and your family, and everyone in the Winging It crew are in my prayers. May your memory be eternal!
March 27th, 2007 at 10:11 am
We love you Joe.
Mike, Evo, et al - Take whatever time you all need. We’ll be here when you get back.
March 27th, 2007 at 11:49 am
Don’t worry about the show, Mike. You all don’t owe us a thing.
Be safe and be loved.
Let us know if there’s anything we can do.
March 27th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
Joe-bie wan, by being struck down now, you’ve become stronger than we ever dreamed possible. Enough stealing from Star Wars. Joe if a miracle doesn’t happen, you’ve become immortal. You will live on in everyones hearts. I regret not contacting you. We live in the same freakin town. You’ll be in my prayers.
March 28th, 2007 at 11:39 am
What is the measure of a man? Karin said it all, his friends. I have listened to your work for only a month or so before Joe was diagnosed. In that time I have laughed, cryed, been shocked and amazed, and was stuck mute hearing about Joe’s illness. I wanted to thank everyone at FPM for keeping us informed about his condition even though it must be a painful window to open. Please take the time that you need to deal with the situation we all understand and will be patient. If Joe must leave us then may his final days be peaceful and painless for we all can see that he is surrounded by love and support.
March 28th, 2007 at 11:54 am
Thanks for the news. I am sitting here crying my eyes out for someone I’ve never met and never will, because by listening to Wingin’ It and hearing Joe every week, I feel like I’ve come to know him at least a little. There are no words for this. Joe will be missed by so many people all over the world and I can’t think of a better testament for such a fantastic guy. I’m thinking of him and will continue to, no matter what happens. I’ll lift a Barenjager for you, Joe.
March 29th, 2007 at 2:40 pm
There is nothing i can do,
to make him come back
There are no words I can say,
that can replace the words you long to hear
There are no answer’s I can give,
that will satisfy your questions
There is not another soul I can introduce you to that will ever replace his
And, there is no love I can offer that will ever replace the love you shared
I can not promise your broken heart will ever be complete
I will not say it could have been worse
I will not deny it was a tragedy
I will not lie and tell you he will come back
He never really left
I do promise he hears you when you speak
I will say he loves you no matter the distance
I will not deny he is in a better place
And, I will not lie; he is waiting to greet you someday
He is every you step you take
He is in everything you do
He is the air you breathe
He is every beat of your heart
” He is like the wind. You can not see him…but you will always feel him”
I Do Believe

Joe will be greatly missed i am saddened by this .Summer stay strong God bless you all.

March 30th, 2007 at 11:51 am
On my first visit to Draco Vista Studios, I was welcomed at the door by Joe Murphy, who’s welcome was immediate and unquestioning. I soon realized that the entire crew there that day (Mike, Evo, Summer, Joe, Jack, Sheila and Lorri) all accepted me in their circle without question. Where I found that this is not uncommon in the Podcasting community in general, this feeling of belonging has never been equaled in my experience.
Joe has been there for much of my return visits. And while I never had quality one-on-one time with Joe, his contribution to the conversation and general mood never ceased to amaze me, with his intelligence, good humor, and positive attitude mixing with a wide breadth of genre knowledge.
Joe will be missed; of that there is no doubt. My heart aches, so I’ll do what I can. Please join me in donating to Joe and his family.
March 30th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
We love you Joe.
April 1st, 2007 at 6:46 am
I haven’t been listening to you guys for more than a couple of months (still trying to catch up on some of the old shows), but this situation affects us all.
My thoughts (and what money I can spare) is with Joe and the rest of you…
