Joe and the Cap’n

Cheyenne Wright just became my personal hero of the moment. He does game art, podcast listener, cool guy all around. And this image he whipped up shows what we all hope Joe is up to at this moment.
I miss him already.
And this thing won’t break the post properly. Oh well.
(Summer: Fixed the image break)

Agreed with Val.
Thanks for that.
April 2nd, 2007 at 12:11 am
Cheyenne, that was just beautiful. It’s a good thing you have done there. Everyone who has heard him has been changed for the better because of it. I believe a fitting memory to him would be if we can all do that to at least one person in this lifetime.
As to otherlifetimes. Who really knows, but I believe we do keep coming back and I hope I have a chance to meet him next time around.
April 2nd, 2007 at 1:19 am
That’s a really nice thought, thanks for all the love joe.
April 2nd, 2007 at 3:13 am

Absolutely great! Wonderfully lovely.
It made me tear up a little.
April 2nd, 2007 at 6:15 am
This made me cry a little less and smile a little more. Thanks, Cheyenne, for this very thoughtful image.

Excelsior, Joe! We’ll miss ya.
April 2nd, 2007 at 6:47 am
Thanks, Cheyenne. Proving once more that we are never alone, not even in our darkest moments. Our friends will always be there to lift us up and give us a reason to carry on.

April 2nd, 2007 at 7:59 am
Made me tear up a little at work.
It’s just beautiful, and a fitting memorial.
April 2nd, 2007 at 8:00 am
This totally got me when I first saw it at 6:30 this morning. Wonderful
April 2nd, 2007 at 8:09 am
My wife passed this on to me this morning right after I got done listening to Wingin’ It 103, and as much as I grieve Joe’s passing, I am somewhat relieved as their description of Joe’s condition doesn’t seem like much of a life (only being able to concentrate on something for a few seconds).
As to the comic, I have to agree with everybody Chyenne: This is awesome work, thanks for doing it!!
April 2nd, 2007 at 8:44 am
Kerry, My wife doesn’t listen to the podcasts and stuff, but knows about what has been going on. When she saw this she totally started bawling. I have a hard time not tearing up too…it really is a touching tribute.
April 2nd, 2007 at 9:11 am
We should all be so blessed to be honored this way and to know how much we are loved.
Take care, Joe. May your sippy-cup never go dry.
April 2nd, 2007 at 9:19 am
wonderful…. thats all i can say.
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:24 am
That’s a pretty amazing tribute!
April 2nd, 2007 at 10:31 am
So long, Joe…
…and may those who loved you know that you’ll be missed all around the globe.
April 2nd, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Michael, Evo, Summer and the rest…
My heart is truly broken, and I have never met Joe.
His warmth and utter kindness were so apparent in the Podcasts, yet he had no problem holding his own on the show.
I can only imagine the loss you feel, and I hope that the love the community sends your way can bring you comfort in this hard time.
April 2nd, 2007 at 1:07 pm
I still get tears in my eyes any time I see this picture.
And just to really dehydrate today… playing Mason Rocket…
I still can’t believe that I am that much moved by the death of someone I didn’t really know much less exchanged any mails or whatever.
April 2nd, 2007 at 3:20 pm
So very cool.
And more and more I regret never having met the man.
April 3rd, 2007 at 2:44 am
A fantastic tribute Cheyenne, Joe would have been blowen away, I wish I had met Joe, …. miss you
April 3rd, 2007 at 4:35 am
Excellent work, and a fitting tribute.
I can hear Joe’s voice when I read his speech balloons.
April 3rd, 2007 at 7:48 am
Brilliant, Cheyenne. I printed it out and it is now hanging on my office wall. A reminder of his spirit in life. A spirit we all should be so lucky to have.
April 3rd, 2007 at 7:40 pm
There is a silence in my mind. My thoughts cannot express the feelings, I have for man, I never met. I only knew him through emails and his podcasts. Thank you Joe for sharing your time on earth with the rest of us. Your life has been brilliant.
April 3rd, 2007 at 9:56 pm
Damn, this made me laugh a bit too hard and cry more than i was prepared for. i was too shy to introduce myself to the Wingin’ It folks at DragonCon (i truly regret that now), but i wanted the Farpoint Media family to know that my thoughts and meditations are with all of you.
They say that you don’t really die until everyone who loved you is gone. If that’s true, then Randy Innuendo will be truly immortal.
April 4th, 2007 at 9:06 am
Funny, isn’t it? One of the ongoing jokes was coming up with a pseudonym for him. Mason Rocket, Randy Innuendo are great… but he’ll always be known and loved as Joe Murphy.
May we meet him again in a place where no shadows fall.
