Andrea from Chicago in a car accident
Tuesday night, frequent caller and contributor Andrea from Chicago was in a serious automobile accident. According to her husband Hugh, her car was sandwiched between two semis after one of the drivers fell asleep at the wheel.
Hugh says:
Her internal injuries are stable. She has broken bones and she is very foggy. She can move all her limbs and she reacts to and recognizes voices and faces. So she will be ok. Hopefully her recovery will be quick.
So it’s bad. Really bad. But it looks like things will be OK. Let’s all wish her a speedy recovery.

Dr. Beer Guy recommends strong medicine for this one…
*scribbles out perscription for top shelf vodka*
There ya go, take as needed for pain.
So, would this be a bad time for a “stuck in traffic” joke?
Seriously, my thoughts are with you for the speediest of recoveries!

I concur, and second, the medical advice of Dr. Beer Guy.
A swift and speedy recovery to you, Andrea! We’ll give you a get-well toast at Balticon.

Thanks everyone
Depending on how today goes, I might be able to go home tomorrow.
Got some more skin grafts today, and the doc is gonna check me out and if everything is healing properly I can go home. I will be off my feet for another few weeks while everything heals, but I would rather be doing that at home then here.
Being unable to move around all day all I have to say is: thank god for DVDs, books, comic books, and iTunes. If all I had to do was watch daytime TV I would of killed myself by now.

If you run out of geek material, let us know, and we’ll set up a fund or something to keep you from As The World Turns.
Though if you’re anything like me, you probably have a pretty large backlog of things you’ve wanted to get through.
May 29th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Andrea,
Good luck, luv! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I bet most people listen to Wingin It for your traffic reports.
Peace

There a several groups out there against truckers who fall asleap at the wheel. They also support victims of such crashes. The web site http://www.trucksafety.org is one such organization.
Andrea, if you need anything you know us wingnuts will help, but organizations like the one I put above might be able to help better than we ever could. Get well soon

Get well soon. Sounds like you’ll have a speedy recovery.

Wow, traveling over an hour (on a low traffic day) everyday to work and back in some of the most truck congested parts of the Pittsburgh area this is one of my worst fears. I wouldn’t wish an accident like this on my worse enemy let alone someone like Andrea. Here is to hoping you heal completely with no real issues when it’s all over. *raises a glass* At least we can look on the bright side, we now know Andrea isn’t the fifth cylon.

The Best of All Possible Wishes, Ms. Andrea! Your’s is one of the voices I most look forward to hearing on the Wingin’ it Voice Mail show.
In the words of the immortal Ernest Angley, TV’s most unintentionally funny Televangelist: “Heeeeeal!”
From your notes above it sounds like your sense of humor came through with flying colors. Get better soon… and the sooner we hear your voice, the happier we’ll all be.
