It simply changes the dynamic of the shows. You had distinct opposites between the two. Evo: bright, energetic, good interviewer. Mike: The sound guy, the true scifi geek of the show, the mellow, deep voice.

You saw the changes in Slice and Cover to Cover as The DragonPage split the atom, and Wingin’ It was the sole mainstay of the Mike and Evo vibe. Could there be some sort of thing going back to the distinct lack of Evo on Cover to Cover, the thing most like the show that started it all? Perhaps, but still only speculation.

For better or worse, the shows go on, and Evo goes on. We cannot ascribe blame to Evo, Mike, Summer, Tim, Brian, Sam, or anybody. It’s not our place. The worst part about it for us fans is the fact that we know it ended a bit sourly and suddenly.

I can only say I hope for resolution and forgiveness, for the sake of the relationships involved. That is the only important thing here, not our own selfish listening desires and need to get our WTF’s out there. I implore everyone to do their best to facilitate that sort of restitution.

And for the love of Pete get off Tim and Brian’s backs!

Listen to ANY past shows and you will understand that
A) – The “he’s not super” line is in reference to the long running “Super Scotty” line.
B) – Evo picking on people and people picking on Evo is also a loooong running schtick.

I’m going to miss Evo’s “comic stylings” as well but come on folks …
Life is so full of REAL problems and conflicts, there’s no need to go looking for one’s to make up.

I’m sure that in time Evo will fully explain his reasons for leaving.

I will miss Evo,but it’s not like they’re bringing in some new cousins (Dukes of Hazzard reference) to try and replace him. Mike and the others are going to keep producing fine shows.

They are being cool about things and so should we. My hope that is that in time the principals that are involved in the dispute can come to terms and still be friends.

Making me angry is all part of my schtick… ANONYMOUS… catch the reference there! Tee hee hee! Ahem.

The Evo leaving issue/announcement happened the day after this recording. Most of us in the room had no idea there was any issue to begin with.

And if you think back over the course of the programs, dissing Evo is part of the fun because he thrives on it. Please don’t go fishing for conspiracy.

Only Tim would have a Leatherman. Sweet.

Caller fav moments are Evo’s revelations without facts or reason behind them, WI studio guest: “That’s like, most of Evo’s stuff,” chuckle chuckle.

I think WI studio guest in all these instances is Brian, but I could be mistaken. I was okay, but after listening to this I’m kind of pissed off now. It’s not nice to make the Indiana Jim angry….

So I lose Evo for… wait a minute… wait a minute. It’s all part of the deal, isn’t it? Wine and Wingin’ It wasn’t enough for them, I don’t think. This is the great experiment, to see how much they can mess with our minds. Hmmmm.
